Career opportunities in Crown Point, IN

Random thought, Been living here since 2019. Crime rate is something to consider -Crown Point sits at 23.1 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Crown Point? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Dallas about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The public transit is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
