Crown Point job market vs Portland

Alright, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,369 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I overthinking this? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Eastside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.
