Crystal Lake housing prices -when will it stop?

First post here. Crime rate is something to consider -Crystal Lake sits at 112.7 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
