Homes are going for about $215,200 on average. Household incomes average around $63,704 in Cullman. You can expect to pay around $921 for rent here. With a population of 18,894, Cullman is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Fairview for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- The housing market scene is decent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Miami about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
