Living in Culver City -the reality

Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Culver City sits at 463.7 per 100K. Homes are going for about $1,126,900 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? TIA! The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Atlanta about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
