Unpopular opinion about Cupertino

Curious what people think. I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $3,501 for rent here. Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. Household incomes average around $231,139 in Cupertino. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.
