Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $85,997, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 10,013, Cypress Gardens is a small town. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 13 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Highland for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The nightlife scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is decent in most areas.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
