Been meaning to ask this. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. Does this match your experience?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from San Diego about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- The cultural scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
