Housing market in Dade City right now

So, Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Dade City sits at 490.7 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 11.3%, which is around average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Sunset for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The cost of living scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..
