Not sure if this has been asked before, but Homes are going for about $170,200 on average. Median household income is $80,433, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Is this normal for Dakota City? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Springfield for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The weather scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
