Dallas is underrated, change my mind

First post here. The median home value here is around $355,700, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,184 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. I work in education here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is better than expected. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.
