Should I move to Danbury or stay in San Diego?

So, Poverty rate is 8.6%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,804 for rent here. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What do you all think? TIA! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 3 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in marketing. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
