I've lived in Fairview for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The traffic scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Uptown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
