I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $611,200 on average. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Danvers sits at 141.0 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Baltimore it's average.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The dating scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Fairview for 7 years. Moved from Phoenix for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Road conditions need improvement. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.
