Is Danville walkable?

Random thought, I'm single, late 50s, and The median home value here is around $1,583,300, which is pretty steep. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (East) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is average and there's always something going on.
