Couple moving to Danville from out of state

Been meaning to ask this. I've been here for 19 years and It's a a smaller city city with about 28,663 people. Median household income is $44,239, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 18.9%, which is higher than I expected. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to San Francisco it's challenging.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much reasonable but now it's challenging.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Downtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
