I work in insurance and Homes are going for about $76,800 on average. Poverty rate is 18.9%, which is higher than I expected. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in North for 6 years. Moved from Dallas for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Far from beaches/mountains. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The cost of living is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Charlotte it's hit or miss.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cultural scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 7 years. Moved from Portland for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Not very walkable outside downtown. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
