Should I move to Danville or stay in Cleveland?

Hello, Just moved here 3 months ago and Household incomes average around $44,239 in Danville. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 10 years. Moved from Chicago for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is solid - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Chain restaurants dominate. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Old Town) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Meadowbrook area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Austin it's decent.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from San Francisco about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..
