Been meaning to ask this. I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 28,663, Danville is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $44,239 in Danville. The median home value here is around $76,800, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 18.9%, which is higher than I expected. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What are your go-to spots?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 6 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.
