Pros and cons of Danville after 7 years
Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,118 for rent here. The median home value here is around $269,400, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks in advance! The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
