Things Danville needs to improve

Hey folks, Poverty rate is 10.8%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $53,370 in Danville. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely improving and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Uptown) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a data analyst and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is average and there's always something going on.
