The good and bad of living in Daphne

Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,337 for rent here. The median home value here is around $309,700, which seems about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thanks in advance! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Cedar Grove area are average. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 11 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Seattle it's tough.
