What's it really like living in Darien?
I work in insurance and The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Darien sits at 1,414.0 per 100K. With a population of 1,260, Darien is a small town. You can expect to pay around $797 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do? Appreciate any input. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
