Remote worker thinking about Darien

So, I'm single, late 30s, and The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 21,855 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Mexican places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
