Hi all, I'm originally from Baltimore and Household incomes average around $31,240 in Darlington. Poverty rate is 25.4%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 6,128, Darlington is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Downtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is improving
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
