Is Darrington worth moving to in 2026?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $64,438, which feels about average for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Worth the trade-offs?

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Highland for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in hospitality here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is challenging. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a nurse and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
