Been living here since 2017. Homes are going for about $218,900 on average. Poverty rate is 11.7%, which is around average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Does this match your experience? Thanks in advance!

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Mediterranean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..
