Career opportunities in Davidson, NC

First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 14,852 people. Homes are going for about $626,000 on average. Household incomes average around $152,969 in Davidson. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Appreciate any input. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The school system is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 10 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 31, moved here 12 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Greenfield and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The community vibe situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
