Cheapest neighborhoods in Davis?

First post here. We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Davis sits at 153.4 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $2,043 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 66,801 people. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
