Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 12 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 13 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in West area are improving. Kids love it here.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely tough and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Old Town) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Eastside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The job market scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (West) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
