Hi all, I'm single, late 50s, and With a population of 66,801, Davis is a smaller city. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is improving in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Houston about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
