How is Davis for outdoor activities?

You can expect to pay around $2,043 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Davis? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Korean places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Dallas about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.
