First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $87,421, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Davis sits at 153.4 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Davis? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
