Moving from Raleigh to Davison next month

Been meaning to ask this. My partner and I are The median home value here is around $166,100, which is actually reasonable. It's a a small town city with about 5,082 people. Household incomes average around $50,450 in Davison. You can expect to pay around $858 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Davison sits at 205.2 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Lakewood area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.
