Random thought, Household incomes average around $43,454 in Dayton. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Dayton? Thanks in advance! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Moved here from Austin about 15 years ago. it was the best decision I ever made. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Atlanta about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
