Best neighborhoods to rent in Daytona Beach?

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $1,239/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Daytona Beach sits at 1,137.0 per 100K. Poverty rate is 14.9%, which is around average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in North for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The school system scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The housing market is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
