Housing in De Witt compared to Pittsburgh

It's a a small town city with about 10,815 people. Homes are going for about $271,700 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Eastside area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
