How much do you pay for rent in Decatur?

Random thought, I've been here for 16 years and Homes are going for about $97,300 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thanks!

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The traffic is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is challenging in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much developing but now it's improving.

I've lived in Downtown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
