Remote worker thinking about Decatur

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2015. You can expect to pay around $796 for rent here. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
