I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Denver about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
