Is Deer Park getting better or worse?

First post here. Crime rate is something to consider -Deer Park sits at 22.0 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Rising rent prices
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
Has anyone dealt with this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much wild but now it's solid.
