Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Portland about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for work and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The safety is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The school system is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Italian places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (East) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 10 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
