Is Defiance good for remote workers?

Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $134,600, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $134,600 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 16,830, Defiance is a small town. Household incomes average around $63,118 in Defiance. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Came here for quality of life and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the North side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
