Commute times in DeFuniak Springs -how bad?

I'm single, late 30s, and Worth the trade-offs? Thanks for reading. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

Moved here from Austin about 6 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to healthcare but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (West) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
