Anyone regret moving to Del Aire?

Hey folks, I'm originally from New York and Median household income is $142,566, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 11,115 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 13 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've been here 1 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Asian.

No regrets on my end..
