Alright, It's a a small town city with about 11,115 people. Homes are going for about $878,800 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. TIA! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The cultural scene is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Houston about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Westside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
