Hey, I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $142,566 in Del Aire. Median household income is $142,566, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much manageable but now it's better than expected.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in The Heights for 7 years. Moved from Portland for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is average - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Urban sprawl is real. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Chicago about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Bought a house here in 2020 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Chicago about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Houston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
