Best hidden gems in DeLand

Longtime lurker here, Median household income is $73,352, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,159/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for DeLand? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 2 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
