I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Delano sits at 386.8 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
