Job market in Delano for tech?

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $61,817 in Delano. The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. Crime rate is something to consider -Delano sits at 386.8 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
- The traffic scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Old Town area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
